Linear Perspective....!!

"I wonder how many opportunities/interesting people I ended up missing because of this weird quality by which we always look for extensions of existing (sometimes stale, unhealthy!) Patterns in each and every new experience/person.
It fit beautifully into the puzzle and I wondered how I could've been so blind! One particular pattern was so strongly embedded in my mind that I ignored what was, even if a bit different, staring me in the face!"

These are the lines I read in a blog I visited yesterday, while traversing I have forgotten where I read so sorry to the blogger who wrote this for not giving any credit of inspiring me. These lines strike me so much that I had copied but to my stupidity I forgot to note the blog. If by chance that person happens to visit my blog, please take the credit, I don’t want to fall into plagiarism. ;-)

“I wonder how many opportunities/interesting people I ended up missing because of this weird quality by which we always look for extensions of existing…”
If we think about this line, it’s so true. For all the stupid reasons we keep looking for those extensions or add-ons in the people who are existing near us. Sometimes I feel – “How do all of us forget all good things any person does for us, in the light of one wrong thing they do?” We just feel “How can they do this?” instead of thinking that “What made him/her do this?” We keep looking for things from our perspective instead of putting ourselves in the shoes of others. Some of the common situations in each of our lives are:
* How can he forget my birthday, I was the first one to wish him? :-(
* How can she love me, I have never talked to her? ;-)
* How can people be so mean, they don’t understand my views? :-p
And many more...

We never think:
* Why he forgot my birthday?
I think he would be busy or may be he has some tension. Let me call him up and ask, may be he needs some help.
* Why she loves me?
I think I have never tried to understand her. Let me give her some space & make an attempt to read her mind, may be its true.
* Why people are so mean?
I think I am not able to communicate myself properly. Let me pay more attention to clarify my point, may be I am somewhere wrong.

These are some of the common instances faced by all of us in this small world…If we think & act accordingly, we can make ourselves & the world around us a little happier.

I agree that we find patterns in people and want them to be as we expect them to be..

But as a normal human being i hate people who are ungrateful....In case of close friends i can tolerate but normally i cant..guess i am quite weak, but i am not afraid to accept my weakness

>>Hi niki, new snap? Yeah, It's always nice to put yourself in others shoes, especially in matters close to your or someone's heart....

>>Hey PIV,Very true that patterns
help us reduce the complex world, but it makes us more biased in opinions & thoughts. We look for a dream friend, dream lover, dream children...and therefore never get to see love in the eyes of those who truly love us.

>>Hey anubhav,
It is more important to get over your weakness rather than accepting it. If we look for some definite patterns in human beings, it hurts none but us.
